Please note: Our collection fleet operates a strict 500kg minimum weight. For residential clear-outs or domestic loads under 500kg, we welcome customers to drop off their scrap directly at our Morecambe yard.

How Our Collection Service Works

We have streamlined our collection process to make commercial scrap disposal fast, legally compliant, and highly efficient.

  1. Request a Quote: Contact us with your metal types, estimated volume, and site location. We provide transparent, weight-based pricing linked to live market rates.
  2. Container Supply: If you require on-site storage, we deliver the appropriate containers directly to your premises prior to collection.
  3. Scheduled or Rapid Collection: Our GPS-tracked fleet collects the waste. We offer one-off rapid clearances to mitigate site theft, as well as long-term contracts with scheduled container rotations.
  4. Processing & Payment: Your load is accurately weighed and graded at our local yard. We issue secure, same-day electronic payments alongside all legally required compliance paperwork.

Storage Assets & Heavy Industrial Processing

Because we cater heavily to the industrial, construction, and trade sectors, we maintain a comprehensive inventory of storage and transport assets. We supply secure skips and containers ranging from 1-cubic-yard battery boxes up to massive 50-cubic-yard rolonof bins for high-volume manufacturing waste. Our dedicated logistics fleet includes crane-assisted flatbed wagons for self-loading heavy machinery, and articulated wagons for bulk industrial haulage.

Morecambe Metals operates as a full-service infrastructure partner. Beyond simple collections, our industrial dismantling team can manage full factory clear-outs and the safe removal of obsolete plant machinery. We do not rely on third-party processing, our facility houses an 800-tonne shear and a mobile scrap metal baling plant, ensuring we can easily process dense structural steel and commercial volumes in-house.

Accepted Materials

We buy, collect, and process all major commercial quantities of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

  • Ferrous Metals: Heavy Melting Scrap (HMS), structural steel, RSJs, rebar, carbon steel turnings, cast iron, new production steel sheets, and general site demolition scrap.
  • Non-Ferrous Metals: Copper (pipe, cable, and windings), aluminium (profiles, sheets, and engine parts), lead (including roofing lead), brass, bronze, stainless steel, alloy wheels, heavy-duty batteries, and catalytic converters.

Tailored to Your Industry

We provide dedicated waste stream management across multiple specialised sectors. For the Construction and Demolition industry, we offer rapid site clearing for rebar, RSJs, and heavy structural steel. We support Manufacturing and Engineering firms by clearing factory offcuts, pressings, and machining swarf.

We also routinely remove redundant farm machinery for Agriculture and Rural Operations, and provide reliable recycling routes for Tradespeople, including plumbers, roofers, and electricians handling regular volumes of copper, lead, and cabling.

Pricing, Legal Compliance & Documentation

Working with a fully authorised waste carrier protects your business. In strict accordance with the UK Scrap Metal Dealers Act, unregulated cash-in-hand transactions are illegal. We ensure every transaction is compliant by paying promptly via secure bank transfer or standard electronic payment.

To meet legal requirements, you must provide a valid photo ID (such as a UK driving licence or passport) and recent proof of address upon your first collection or yard drop-off.

We provide a watertight audit trail for your corporate and environmental records. Every commercial collection automatically includes fully compliant Waste Transfer Notes (WTNs). Where required, we are also authorised to issue Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes for regulated items such as lead-acid batteries and vehicle depollution scrap.
